Education & Youth

Educational Goals

The people of Peace strive to ensure that every child, youth, and adult hears and understands the good news of Jesus Christ and feels loved and accepted in the congregation and the world. The people of Peace want to teach the value of the “Living Faith” in each person’s life so that they may find purpose, experience mission, and establish a meaningful and lasting relationship with the Lord. The hope is that all members, children and adult alike, want to become active participants in the church. Studies show that youth who are actively involved in a church are more likely to continue church membership throughout their lives.

Confirmed members of Peace Lutheran Church are welcome and invited to teach Sunday school and other Christian education classes. The Education Committee’s desire is to have at least two teachers per Sunday school class. Teachers may team-teach, or one may be the lead teacher and the other a helper. Team teaching can be done by alternating each week or group of weeks between the lead teacher and the helper. Team teachers can also share the responsibilities each week. Teachers may choose whichever arrangement works best for them. Having two teachers works well when one teacher is absent, provides a partner for sharing ideas, and gives the students the opportunity to get to know two caring people.

Teaching the good news of Jesus Christ brings much joy and many blessings. Teachers receive as much as they give and grow in their faith as they learn right along with their students. So please, come, grow in faith, and experience the wonder, excitement, and pure joy of being a Christian educator!
