Faith Stepping Stones
A part of the faith education process at Peace that offers resources in parenting for each of the seven key stages of development and teaches the parents to remember the promises that were made at the baptismal font, to nurture the child in the Christian faith. This group is led by Faith Formation Director Sherry Maakestad. If you have questions, please contact Sherry or the church office.
Babies and blessings (age newborn to age one)
Raising a Healthy Preschooler (age three)
Entering School (Age 5 and entering kindergarten)
Through the Bile (third grade youth)
First Communion Preparation (fourth grade)
Surviving Adolescence (sixth grade)
Preparing for Making My Vows (ninth grade)
Graduation Blessing (HS Seniors)
Sunday School (Faith Formation Hour)
Sunday School meets from 9:00am to 10:00am during the school year. Sunday School is available for ages three through high school. Adult education is also offered during the Faith Formation Hour. Sara Stelpflug is the contact person for Sunday school. If you have questions, please contact Sara or the church office.
PARTY (Peace Actively Reaching Today's Youth)
A group for 9th grade through 12th grade youth that meets on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm to 8:30pm during the school year. Sherry Maakestad, the Faith Formation Director, leads this group with the help from a youth assistant from Central College. If you have questions, please contact Sherry or the church office.
WoW (Word on Weekday)
A midweek program for 2nd through 5th grade youth that meets on Thursdays after school from 3:30pm to 5:30pm in three sessions: one in October/November, one from January to Ash Wednesday, and one from Easter to the end of April. Sherry Maakestad, the faith formation director, leads this group. If you have questions, please contact Sherry or the church office.
A program for 6th through 8th grade youth that prepares young teens to publicly and personally affirm their faith in Jesus Christ. EnterMission, or Confirmation class, is held each Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The youth are confirmed on the first Sunday in November of their ninth grade year. Prior to confirmation Sunday, the youth meet with the pastor on Sundays evenings or after worship during the fall. Our Pastor leads EnterMission assisted by Sherry Maakestad, the faith formation director. If you have questions, please contact Sherry or the church office.
